Thunderbird Setup

In this page you will find out how to modify your Thunderbird email setup so that outbound emails will be "templated" by BrandMyMail.

You can either create a new Thunderbird account or, as shown in this example, modify your default account.

Open Thunderbird and select the account you want to connect with BrandMyMail SMTP.

Right click on the account name and select the Settings ... option, this will bring up the Account Settings window. Select the Outgoing Server (SMTP) option in the left frame (usually, the last option in the list).

Click on the Add... button in the right frame, that brings up the SMTP Server window.

  • Under Settings section enter next details:
  • Description: BrandMyMail
  • Server Name: smtp.brandmymail.com
  • Port: 1587
  • Under Security and Authentication section specify next details:
  • Connection security: STARTTLS
  • Authentication method: Normal password
  • Username: your Username

Click OK to apply new configuration details.

In the Account Settings now you can see BrandMyMail - smtp.brandmymail.com account:

Select the account you want to connect with BrandMyMail SMTP in the left frame.

At the bottom of the right frame for Outgoing Server (SMTP) you need to select BrandMyMail - smtp.brandmymail.com account.

Click OK to apply new configuration details.

First time you send email with new SMTP configuration, Thunderbird will ask for the password

Congratulations, you're done!

Now, every email you send from Thunderbird, will pass through the BrandMyMail SMTP server and will be transformed ("templated") according to the template you have designed. After transformation, the email will be sent on to its destination via the SMTP server that you have configured for your BrandMyMail account.
